Mulberry Inn (1 photos)
Scott Clark is a General Contractor/Humanitarian here in Clermont Florida. After working all over central Florida during the week as a TOP COMMERCIAL CONTRACTOR, Scott takes a break to donate his time, crew & materials to help renovate the Old Mulberry Inn.
Helping New Beginnings texture & paint the 1st & 2nd floors of this late 1800's home not only gives it a fresh look, it adds up to $5K in value to this historic home. Once a family home before becoming a bed & breakfast until most recently a European Bistro, Mothers & their children will again be able to make memories here.
Preferring to be behind the scenes, Scott & his men worked late into the night to ensure everything was done in time for the crew of volunteer painters this morning.
"I know it's not as much as I would like to do, but it's what I can do for them. Obviously, if they're here they could use a helping hand," soft spoken contractor Scott Clark admits when asked why he does things like this. kimberanna.com

120609 Fun at the Elks (45 photos)
The Elks lodge is second only to the US government in scholarships awarded! In order to help fund those scholarships our member do fundraising events such as "Flagday Steak Night!" Not only is this event a worthy cause but an amazing night of fun, family and friendship.
Our lodge is an extention of our family and each member takes an active role in it's success. Larry, Mary & Paula volunteered as our kitchen team, doing everything from prepping the salads to grilling the steaks to order. Almost 40 people were served big, fat steaks for only $10! Everyone stayed tokareoke & dance the night away.
Helping the community is not only rewarding it brings people together, no matter how economically challenging times get. Want to know more about your local Elks Club? Google it! There is probably an Elks Lodge near you...if you live in or around the Clermont area, e-mail me: Kim@lcrc.us

My trips to Denmark have given me the chance to share some wonderful events, Martin's birthday was one of the most special. His family was so warm and welcoming that I wished the night would never end.
Martin and his mother taught me how to make Danish Birthday Buns from scratch ! I was able to meet his younger, taller brother, Adam. Giggles. Such a wonderful young man:D
Missing were his sisters whom I hope to meet one day but many friends from all walks of life were there to fill the in the blanks for those absent.
My fondest hope is that Martin's next birthday will be shared with us and perhaps a "special lady" for my Martin. Martin & his family will always have a special place in my heart & a place in our lives.

Sunday with dad and Karen (393 photos)
Morten and I drove to Aalborg to spend the day with his father and his wife Karen. We had a wonderful lunch, a nice walk to the bay in their back yard then drove to the coast to visit their summer house.
Before heading home we stopped by an old light house that sits on a giant sand dune right on the ocean! It took me quite a while to pull Morten up that steep climb...Giggles...but some how we made it to the top! The view was breathtaking and well worth the trip.
When we arrived back to dad's place in Aalborg he made us a delightful three course meal complete with home made icecream! We listened to Jazz music and played with our cameras as we looked at old photos and remembered the good ole days.
It was a delightful day filled with adventure, laughter and family.

Aalborg Church (28 photos)
Jonna, Morten's mom, was nice enough to take me for a stroll through the charming city of Aalborg. Along the way we discovered this amazing church. It looks like the amazing ones I always see on TV or in movies but being inside it in real life was just breath taking.
As I clicked pictures of the hand carved woodwork, Gothic ceilings and ornate doors I wondered at all the miracle and mysteries that might have surrounded this place over the hundreds of years it has been here.
Coming from America I seem to appreciate the history and age of this building more than the people who get to see it every day. I marvel at how well preserved everything is, wondering if a child had ever scratched their initials into the pews during service like I always thought of but never tried. How many grandpas have fallen asleep under those high ceilings only to be smacked in the back of the head by grandmas.
As I stand before God in this holy place I feel somehow smaller, yet bigger at the same time. No matter what time or place, we all were drawn to this church for a reason. Just standing in these walls I have now become a tiny part of it's history and it mine. My heart feels fuller...my soul less empty.
Mom and I step back onto the street and everything is brighter. I feel almost surprised that life has gone on while we were inside the tiny treasure of a church. People are hurrying through the streets and passing by it's doors without a second look...I smile and look at my mother in law. Somehow I feel we share a secret that everyone else around us will never understand because they did not take the time to walk inside those doors as we did.
Our steps are light as we continue our search for adventure:D

Pary Marty and I took out our friend Elaine who is recently divorced after 26 years of marriage. This is her second time ever in a bar and she has never dated as an adult. Life being single is hard, especially when you never wanted to be single. It's not something you can prepare for. Just jump into it with both eyes open and your feet firmly planted on the ground. I say treat the men you meet like condimants, Giggles. Get from them what you need while you are there but when you leave, don't take them with you. They need to stay in the bar along with the unused salt and pepper:D
Bar hopping is fun. Share some stories with your girlfriends get a little high off the attention you get but please remember, this is not real life. Everyone here is looking for instant gratification. Real fulfillment takes time.
Now don't get me wrong, I love to party and have fun. I just want everyone to wake up feeling enriched, not empty. Come hang out with me. I'll show you how it's done!

Carlsberg Brewery II (17 photos)
Not only was the factory a reminder of human greatness in engineering, the gardens and surround were breathtaking.
Contributed to cultural and social life
Carlsberg was founded in 1847 by the brewer J.C. Jacobsen and became an important part of Danish and international business activities. J.C. Jacobsen generously contributed to cultural and social life in Denmark. He was deeply involved in the reconstruction of Frederiksborg Castle, where the Museum of National History brings to light the history of Denmark.
From www.visitcopenhagen.com/tourist/what_to_see_and_do/inspir...
"Another fine project on which J.C. Jacobsen left his distinct mark is the Botanical Garden of Copenhagen. Actually, the green-house was partly designed by J.C. Jacobsen being inspired by the English Crystal Palace"

Danish Flags (16 photos)
American, born and bred. I always thought America, the beautiful, was the country that loved it's flag the most. Now I must admit, after spending last year in Denmark, I was dead wrong.
