She will probably go on to tell you about her two crazy daughters. Their RED JACKETS & fold open Michael Jackson records, smiling as though reliving some of those happy memories.

That’s the gift Michael Jackson gave the world. He provided a SOUNDTRACK throughout most of our lives. New artists would come steal our hearts from time to time but people like Elvis Presley, the Beatles & Michael Jackson were constants. Timeless.

Yes, his music was amazing. (Almost daring us not to move with

the music) It was being able to learn the dance moves,

knowing more about him than really any other artist out there.

You could see clips on the news about who he was dating etc.

when you never remember seeing anyone else on TV.

One picture I remember got a lot of attention was of Michael Jackson & Tatum O’Neal on a date! I remember thinking,

“I wonder what the old people will have to say about a black singing star & a white movie star dating!”

Honestly, I had heard & seen those two kids in movies & TV so much I wasn’t shocked…I mean how many other kids lived in TV Land & Movies at the time? Brooke Shields? *Giggles.

trying to learn the dance steps.”

Terry always made it look easy & usually learned the steps quicker. I think we even tried to use the steps for a CHEER routine.

That must of been during our “JOCK PRINCESS” phase at Nelsonville York High School! Boy. Doesn’t feel like long ago but a lifetime has happened since then!

“We are the World” really taught me to believe that Michael Jackson was more than a pretty singer, he had a VOICE. Not just a happy performer acting in whiteface but a true artist with deep beliefs.

Sometimes the music & the beat can trick the mind into not listening to the message of the storyteller. Death is a constant that gives us one last chance to hear everything again, tempered by the wisdom of time.
Regarding the LEGACY of Michael Jackson, do not make judgment guided by one simple man’s opinion. Instead take a moment to search the past through the eyes of modern technology! Walk through the pieces of the man’s life, to come up with your own decision.
