So… we just passed a health care plan written by a committee

whose chairman said he didn’t understand it,

passed by a Congress that exempts themselves from it,

signed by a president who smokes,

with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes,

all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,

and financed by a country that’s broke?????

Some days it’s hard to even get out of bed in the morning… but then I hear my son moving around getting ready for another BIG school day.

I remember what I have waiting for me on the other side of that door, my hopes & dreams for a better future all wrapped up in one small boy. (Well not quite that small but always my baby)

I plaster my best “WINNING SMILE” on my face & prepare to be the BEST PERSON I can be for myself & for my family.

Knowing I have their LOVE to come home to, makes me want to JUMP out of bed & move mountains just to see them SMILE.

“You are the butter on my bread, the breath in my life and I love you.” My favorite quote from the movie, “Julie & Julia.”

Sales meeting Tuesday, (as I like to call it was) was long and eventful. I accomplished most of what I scheduled and even overcame an obstacle, turning it into a positive. (Thank you again Juanita for lunch at Cheeser’s Palace.) All in all it was a very purpose driven day.

Nothing could top off the day better than sharing it with someone I loved, so I rushed home to pick up Jeffrey. Together we went to my BFF “Party Marty’s” house. Jeffrey ran off with Brian, leaving Marty & I to swap “boys will be boys” stories. Together we laughed about everything from adventures in dating to lessons learned and everything in between. We relived the holidays and the previous year, helping to close the suitcase on that chapter of our lives.

To celebrate we decided to have a girls movie night! Spiked coffee in hand, we plopped onto her comfy couches surrounded by three dogs and two cats for warmth. Clicking through PPV we decided upon “Julie & Julia.” Meryl Streep and Amy Adams star in the title roles. Not only did the strong female leads lure us in, but the obvious abuse of butter sealed the deal on our choice for “movie to watch.”

Meryl Streep reminds me of my Aunt Lorna so she has always been a favorite. However, this performance made me fall in love with her and Julia, all over again. “Julie & Julia” was refreshing, inspiring & heartfelt…reminding us all that following your dream can NEVER be considered a failure because you are doing what you love.

I found myself instantly connected w/Julia (being a bit of an amazon myself) & Julie (since I’ve been blogging for almost 3 yrs). I could relate to their desires to achieve greatness, dissatisfaction with their lethargic attempts to achieve that goal. Basically, they woke up one morning and realized, they weren’t happy with where they were in their lives. From Julia who seemingly began her life w/marriage at age 40 to Julie still coasting through her career disconnected at 30, we learned that life (the life you DESERVE TO LIVE) begins the minute you decide to live it.

Since my birthday is just around the corner (14th) I appreciated the importance of Birthdays in the film and the milestones they represented. Not only did they give the movie an poinant tension, it gave definite deadlines for accomplishment. The factual post at the end of the movie stating Julia & Paul’s age & date of death drove home the importance of TIME & how PRECIOUS it is.

Today really is the first day of the rest of your life. Don’t waste another minute being unhappy…make a change, NOW. Make a goal and take the steps to reach it. Believe in yourself and your choices. Will action you are about to take bring you closer to or further from your goal? Who would ever think someone could accomplish so much in just one fragile lifetime? Maybe you are the next Julia, Julie or maybe even Kimberanna? *Giggles

*2009 was the fire that forged a stronger back bone for most of us. We realized what was really important in life, our friends & family. We learned the difference between what we WANT and what we NEED. That the people standing beside you at the end of the battle are the same ones who lifted you up when you fall.

Live, love, laugh, and leave a legacy.

“TGIF everyone…it’s been a tough week & I thought we could all use a good laugh. Hope your weekend is safe & filled with LOVE & LAUGHTER!”

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding
anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant. 

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table.

 She said, ‘For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.’

The wife answered, ‘Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.’

The fairy waved her magic wand and – poof! – two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: ‘Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again…

 I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.’

 The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.

 So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!..the husband became 92 years old…

 The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful brats should remember.. ..fairies are female…

“Kinda “Woody Allen lite” w/ “Sex in the City” meets “BIG CHILL this century” chaser…“” would be my first thought if someone asked me to TWEET a trailer for “Melinda and Melinda.”

THERE ARE 2 SIDE to EVERY STORY…

Honestly, I’ve never really considered myself a BIG Woody Allen fan due mostly to random remote clicks of that movie w/egg houses, white fuzzy carpet & Hitler being brought back to life. I get the whole under current of political scandal, ripping off band aids of racial & religious standards for normalcy in it’s time thing, but I’m kinda shallow. Visually, I need to connect w/the movie to be open to it’s deeper more creative depths.

Admittedly, I am addicted to today’s overload of our visual senses thanks to constant plug in to the world wide web, HD & WiFi. My level of expectation has no limits, so high have today’s film makers set the bar in story telling AND digital art. Each new film seems to finally understand how to marry a message from the heart to a gift for the mind, through the eyes of forever childhood.

“Melinda and Melinda” didn’t beat me over the head with anything, yet woke me up. Refreshing, NEW but oh so WOODY; all wrapped up in eye cotton candy (minus the FLUFF!)  LOVE, Love loved it to pieces.

Wouldn’t this make the BEST mystery dinner party GAME?!?

Our version of Country songwriter’s BLUEBIRD CAFE. Where Story tellers, dream weavers, poets or preachers can match wits in war of words to the delight of everyone in the room. A modern more cinematic version of Arabian Knights in a more intimate setting, over dinner mixed with polite conversation.

Not unlike the characters sitting at the table during the opening scene of Melinda & Melinda pondering, “…let me tell you a story, and you tell me is it material for a COMEDY or a TRAGEDY?”  Guests at our dinner party will be able to play the roles of the guests at that table reading lines from the movie as the rest of the the guests play out the parts of all the others. Anyone wanting to join in could take a part, many different faces could play Melinda but WHO Melinda really is would be why the game would be addictive.

KARAOKE for people whose charisma & wit are their instruments. TOASTMASTERS meets DEAD POETS SOCIETY…Bring it on, ALL or nothing. *Giggles

GREAT idea, but hard to find talent at the level needed to make something like this work…but where are the chances better than nestled in the the hill tops tucked behind Cinderella’s Castle in the land of Disney:D

People from all over the world come to Central Florida from all walks of life: for fun, excitement, work & play…making memories of a lifetime.  I think we have enough talent sprinkled across our state to make this type of “MELINDA and MELINDA mystery dinner PARTY” game a REALITY:D
