I definitely remember catching fireflies at night with my sister and cousins. We'd catch loads and fill up a tent with them, it was amazing. Bike rides, hula hoops, bubbles, swimming in a river and eating tons and tons of fruit, usually plucked fresh. Ah, those were the days!
