“No matter how terrible my day is going, just thinking about the song to Mr. Roger’s neighborhood makes me smile.”
Living in Central Florida & living just minutes from Cinderella’s castle… I often find myself wishing for my very own “Disney like” soundtrack. In my version of the perfect day, I would wake up every morning dancing w/bluebirds to the into from “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…” from PBS’s famous television show Mister Rogers neighborhood (performed by the shows star, Fred Rogers.)
I remember the good memories I had watching Mr. Rogers as I grew up. True, I’m a little too young to have seen the original shows but being an Army brat meant watching “Government Cable.” Lot’s of black & white reruns. Plus living in Germany & places so far away didn’t help with channel selection in English. PBS shows almost always made the cut of “approved for general audiences” so along with Big Bird”s Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers neighborhood became part of MY NEIGHBORHOOD.

Knowing I could always count on people like Mr. Rogers gave me faith that if “I believe it, I can achieve it!” That’s why I always try so hard to help “Save the World…” & really believe WE are each either part of the PROBLEM or part of the SOLUTION. Mr. Rogers helped teach me we do it this way, because it’s the right thing to do. Basically “treat others as you would have them treat you.”
I know that right now things don’t look good, but I know that if we all work together things will keep getting better & better. Just like all Americans, my family’s future depends on it! So let’s get out there & show the WORLD what we are made of.
