For some reason everything I do, I can relate to a movie. Movies to me are stories told by master story tellers with unlimited resources.  Story tellers who, like in the days of old could draw entire villiages to gather around the fire to listen to the story they had to tell. What draws the crowd? The secret glimpse we each get of something that we didn’t have before. We get to “steal a piece of this interesting persons life, simply by listening.”  Movies amaze, delight and yes…educate me.  Being part Irish soldier (or close as we can tell wink)  part Korean immigrant, this is a made for Hollywood version of my life.  The movie hooked me with it’s rendition of the American spirit and love of country we all share. In FAR & AWAY the immigrants struggle for what should be their God given rights and freedoms.  After spending yesterday fighting against the current legal system and realizing I was in way over my head regarding the legal proceedings of a foreclosure, I needed to vent somehow. So after I took a moment to snap pictures of what was beautiful around me in my life. I took a deep breath and opened my wordpress. Google:  Far and Away.

In this instance I feel the need to be the voice for Realtors out there that are just like me, but not quite as vocal or educated enough in Blogging and this newer internet technology. Please understand me when I say, it’s ok for some of us to not be internet savy.  It’s not a bad thing or a crime, we are just working our butts off; working and don’t have access to people who are willing to help us understand the internet culture and language let alone resources to own a computer at this time. Many of them plug into this blog when they can. These are bright, good people with limited means. We all are. We’re realtors. <—CLICK THAT to know more.

Some of us are the lucky ones, who are good at picking things up and have no lives other than work, a husband in Denmark (think that may actually be a million miles aways) and my only child, Jeffrey.  I started Kimberanna.com/Realty Reality out of frustration.  I love my profession, I love my Country and I love my community. I’m just trying to understand how we as Realtors can help ourselves and pretty much the rest of the world get through this housing crisis.   Big talk for a little fish in one of the biggest most polluted pools around but I’m not going to let that stop me.  Even if one person reads what I have say and it gives them the strength to stand up and claim their ground, I’m making a difference. Just like Tom Cruise in Far and Away. Giggles.

We do a service to this country and how we do our jobs shapes and impacts the outcome of all of our futures.

We need to build on the momentum OBAMA and his spirit of change brings, but we must educate ourselves and the world in the process.  Transparency.

It’s not going to be easy and this is not going to be a quick fix, but believe me when I tell you, “YOU are worth it.”  All we have in life of value is either TIME or MONEY.  If you have the time, educate yourself on whatever it is you need help with. What you can’t do, find someone who can and pester them until they will help you or kick you out. Then go to the next person on your list and do the same thing. If you have the    money,  spend it wisely.  Educate yourself before you spend a dime and remember if it is a safe investment it will not change by the time it takes to fully understand it.
