Coming home to Copenhagen…

cpn-airport

My arrival to Copenhagen was stressful but in a way that makes you feel alive. I love to travel, being raised an Army brat I have moved my entire life. My feet are never easily planted anywhere so flying back and forth to Denmark feeds my gypsy nature.

Butterflies fill my tummy as I step off the plane…flashbacks of my first trip to Copenhagen fill my head. I remember how scared I felt, wondering if I was being crazy to fly all this way for love. Instantly I realize that it was actually the smartest thing I ever did.  Life is hard, when something wonderful comes along we need to grab for it and hold on tight.

I snuggle my 10 layers of clothes tighter as I feel the great northern wind fly up to greet me, “Welcome to Denmark…welcome home…” it seems to say.

cpn-2

I gather my giant bags full of American cheer and trinkets as I hurry to the nearest exit. My Morten is out there just like last time…I can’t wait to see his smiling blue eyes.  As the automatic doors open I scan the crowd for his fur lined cap, knowing his head will be above the rest. My Viking always stands out in a crowd:D I feel him hurry toward me before I see him, looking to my right just  he walks up embracing me tight. All is well in the world…we hold each other and time stops for just a moment.

“How could anything be better than this?” I wonder. My family is my life and no matter how much I screw things up they are the rock that I build my castles upon.  The bricks along the path of my happily ever after. “

morten-snow

Hand and hand Morten and I walk outside to face the chilly Copenhagen winter. I giggle when he explains it has warmed up to 2 today! The snow has almost all melted but my eagle eyes spot a slightly dirty patch in a shady spot. I snap a quick pic as Morten walks by it, realizing that this is the first real snow I’ve seen in probably 10 years?  We hurry to the car tingling from the cold and being together again.

As we drive home I can’t seem to keep my hands from touching his. “Don’t pinch me…I don’t want to wake up,” I whisper to myself.

Nora Jones @ O’Keefe’s?

come-away-with-me1

After my adventures at the Lake County Court

house, it was past 5 o’clock…what does that

mean to me? Traffic. No sense in fighting

with it and ending up pissed off, so I stopped

by historic Tavares to check out the rowing

facilities.Want to know more?

okeefe-21My husband from Denmark is always looking for a good

area close to the water, that he can party at. In Miami

and in Copenhagen we go to Nikki Beach.  Here in Central Florida,

we have Wooten Park…if you’ve ever been here you know

what that means! CLICK–>Nikki Beach

nora_jones_8x10Enter Nora Jones. While clicking pics of some of Florida’s most beautiful natural lakes and piers, Nora Jones’ voice drifted across the water, “Come away with me and we’ll kiss on a mountain top…” I turned to discover the quaintest waterfront tavern this side of Killarney Ireland, O’Keefe’s Irish Pub and Grill. Nestled on the edge of Lake Dora, O’Keefe’s offer’s an open dining area.  Perfect for those glorious sun shiny days, sunning and dreaming of summer days.

An ornate doorway opens to reveal a lush tavern that makes you feel like you’ve been transported into an old fashioned speak easy. The atmosphere is so thick you can cut it. This is a family bar, there have been birthday parties and Irish wakes here. This is America.  Like Cheers….everyone knows your name.

terrence-okeefeStepping inside, I bump into Terence O’Keefe. Terrence

is the brother of Andrew O’Keefe, this bar’s proprietor.

Terrence welcomes me and offers a seat at the bar so I

can plug in my laptop.  “We have WiFi if it helps you.” I

swear there was an Irish glint to his voice if not a wink

in his eye.  I settle down and let him make me a sweet

but sour drink to warm up my bones…”Holiday cheer!”

He chimes as Roxanne and I ask him the name.

We giggle as we decide that yes, this drink can make

any day a holiday.

FAR and AWAY:Realty Reality

faway-trunksFor some reason everything I do, I can relate to a movie. Movies to me are stories told by master story tellers with unlimited resources.  Story tellers who, like in the days of old could draw entire villiages to gather around the fire to listen to the story they had to tell. What draws the crowd? The secret glimpse we each get of something that we didn’t have before. We get to “steal a piece of this interesting persons life, simply by listening.”  Movies amaze, delight and yes…educate me.  Being part Irish soldier (or close as we can tell wink)  part Korean immigrant, this is a made for Hollywood version of my life.  The movie hooked me with it’s rendition of the American spirit and love of country we all share. In FAR & AWAY the immigrants struggle for what should be their God given rights and freedoms.  After spending yesterday fighting against the current legal system and realizing I was in way over my head regarding the legal proceedings of a foreclosure, I needed to vent somehow. So after I took a moment to snap pictures of what was beautiful around me in my life. I took a deep breath and opened my wordpress. Google:  Far and Away.

seniors-voteIn this instance I feel the need to be the voice for Realtors out there that are just like me, but not quite as vocal or educated enough in Blogging and this newer internet technology. Please understand me when I say, it’s ok for some of us to not be internet savy.  It’s not a bad thing or a crime, we are just working our butts off; working and don’t have access to people who are willing to help us understand the internet culture and language let alone resources to own a computer at this time. Many of them plug into this blog when they can. These are bright, good people with limited means. We all are. We’re realtors. <—CLICK THAT to know more.

american-realtorSome of us are the lucky ones, who are good at picking things up and have no lives other than work, a husband in Denmark (think that may actually be a million miles aways) and my only child, Jeffrey.  I started Kimberanna.com/Realty Reality out of frustration.  I love my profession, I love my Country and I love my community. I’m just trying to understand how we as Realtors can help ourselves and pretty much the rest of the world get through this housing crisis.   Big talk for a little fish in one of the biggest most polluted pools around but I’m not going to let that stop me.  Even if one person reads what I have say and it gives them the strength to stand up and claim their ground, I’m making a difference. Like sticking a flag into the ground of new found land,  we are claiming our rights to our community and our roles in it.

We do a service to this country and how we do our jobs shapes and impacts the outcome of all of our futures.

We need to build on the momentum OBAMA and his spirit of change brings, but we must educate ourselves and the world in the process.  Transparency.

We we need to take this time to truly educate ourselves; our communities, our clients..hell anyone who will listen!  Give them the truth and it will set them free. Not only educate them on the facts with print outs and numbers but also how the process works. Give them the tools and links so they can investigate it. FEED A MAN A FISH AND HE WILL EAT FOR A DAY. riveter1obama1It’s not going to be easy and this is not going to be a quick fix, but believe me when I tell you, “YOU are worth it.”  All we have in life of value is either TIME or MONEY.  If you have the time, educate yourself on whatever it is you need help with. What you can’t do, find someone who can and pester them until they will help you or kick you out. Then go to the next person on your list and do the same thing. If you have the    money,  spend it wisely.  Educate yourself before you spend a dime and remember if it is a safe investment it will not change by the time it takes to fully understand it.

Superbowl Wrap up

“Santonio is a guy who just loves to deliver,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said.

Super Bowl XLIII Football

Superbowl 43 was memorable due mostly to this amazing reception by wide receiver Santonio Holmes. Pittsburgh Steeler’s made NFL history by winning the Super Bowl title for the 6th time, led by coach Mike Tomlin. Holmes went on to be named the games most valuable player, wrapping up the night with nine catches for 131 yards.

Bruce Springsteen rocked half time by proving music is ageless. He did however, have us all on the edge of our seats as we collectively gasped when he went down on both knees…luckily, he popped right back up! Amazing, he jumps around on stage more than artists half his age. “Go Bruce!”

dennys-free-breakfast2Once again, we all waited to be awed by the “Superbowl Commercials!” Unfortunately, this year’s selection did not really impress me as year’s past. The highlight for me would have to be “Denny’s seriously good breakfast!” Loved the mafia dudes but more than anything, they “Showed me the money!”That’s right…the commercial featured something of actual value, FREE FOOD! Tuesday February 3rd from 6am to 2pm the will be giving away free Grandslam breakfasts while supplies last.  That’s what I like. A commercial that is worth the hype. Denny’s is really saying, “Try us, it’s so good, we know you will be hooked!”

superflags2Now, everyone knows…the best part of Superbowl is the family and friends you share it with.  This year I was invited to sped it with my gorgeous sister Terry, her husband Richard, their kids: Colt, Jimmy, Brianna & DJ, mom, dad,my son Jeffrey and his buddy “Mike.”  As always we had tons of food, lot’sto drink and thanks to my husband Morten’s influence FLAGS!  Since we were not really big fans for either team, we decided to decorate for the party in Red, White & Blue! The girls loved waving them and they really brightened up the night!  Even the older boys got in on the fun and we all were left wondering why we had never thought of it sooner. Giggles.  Overall, it was a magical, memorable night spent with the ones I love.  I can’t wait to share this American tradition with my Danish family:D *MM

Every year, Superbowl Sunday is the climax of the football season!  This year has been one of great upsets and even greater rises to fame.  None more inspiring than this year’s Arizona Cardinal’s, making NFL history by making the Superbowl for the first time this year!  Want to see what all the excitement is about?  Check out this video that Cardinal’s fans want you to check out!

Let’s not forget that the Cardinal’s face one of the most

established teams in NFL history. Pittsburgh Steeler’s

fans are known for supporting their team through thick

and thin, this year they have a lot to cheer about!  Led by

veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger the Steelers are

favorites to win this match up!  This is giving Pittsburgh

players and fans alike a lot to sing about!

Click it—>Steeler’s Fight Song!

No matter who wins Superbowl 43, one thing is for sure: American’s love our football! With high hopes for record TV coverage viewership and internet activity, this year’s game is definately going to be one for the record books.  If the Cardinal’s witn they will make history.  This is the first year they have ever made it to the Superbowl, possibly winning it.  I can honestly say with a clear conscience that I am a “Bandwagon Jumper!”  I admit I jumped on the Cardinals bandwagon because I love the game and admire any team that can play the game well.  The Cardinal’s have played at a level higher than I ever imagined they could, have overcome many challenges and worked out the bugs in their leadership.  To make a long story short, I’m a sucker for the underdog…I sincerely hope they can go all the way.

Gooooooo Cardinals!!!
