Terry Parsons, "Rookie of the Year," Multi-Million Dollar Producer*

In the life of a Realtor, a picture in the paper

is not usually a very big deal. Realtors

pay tons of money in ads just to get our

homes sold and attract new customers. A

free, almost full page “ATTA BOY” about a

job well done, stops us in our tracks. The

South Lake Press kindly reposted the

presentation speech I had surprised my

sister with, when she won “Rookie of the Year!”

 PARSONS WINS AWARD

The Greater Lake County Association of REALTORS® presented Terry Parsons of Watson Realty Corp., REALTORS® with the Rookie of the Year award at the Annual Membership & Installation Banquet on Dec. 19. The Rookie of the Year Award honors the REALTOR® member of the Greater Lake County Association of REALTORS® who has contributed the most to the profession within their first full year in real estate as a member of the Association.

Nominations were based on ethics, character, and personality, business accomplishments, activity at local levels, and involvement in real estate transactions.

If Ms. Parsons came with a label, it would read, “WARNING: appearances may be deceiving.”   Terry exemplifies, “Walk softly and carry a big stick.”

She was born the “middle child” to a proud all-American Army family, her life was spent on the move. Traveling throughout the United States and Europe by car or by plane, whether visiting wonders of the world such as the Grand Canyon on vacation or being “deployed” alongside her father’s many moves while serving his country every 2-3 years, she learned early the importance of “Home.” No matter where her family moved, home was always the same. She began her real estate education, quickly becoming an expert on relocation, renting, buying, and listing more homes with her family than most would in a lifetime before the age of 18.

She worked her way through college, partly as a single mother with a partial cheerleading scholarship to South Florida Community College by qualifying for the prestigious OWL scholarship for her outstanding performance as an adult student. She worked full time in grocery store management and earned her BA from Middle Tennessee State University with a dual major in Chemistry and Biology. She was named “2002 Senior Honor Student” for those departments.

Voted “Most likely to become a Supermodel” by her high school girlfriends, she was always known as a doctor in training. So it was as much a surprise to her, as it was to everyone else, when she obtained her real estate license in July 2007.

In her first year as a full time agent, she successfully negotiated short sales, foreclosures, international real estate transactions and managed to become a Multi-Million Dollar producer with over $2.5 million in sales.

She is the Secretary of the South Lake Chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® , co-chair for the Royal Ascot Fashion Show, a Care Giver to her retired parents, and she teaches life skills to middle school students for Junior Achievement in Lake County.
